entries for the 2009 national youth self portrait prize closed last month, this is the image i submitted to the competition.
every element in the photo was chosen for a specific reason which was detailed in my 'artist statement'. Upon reviewing the statement i discovered that it sounded very sh*t so i have decided not to include it.
one element that i will explain is that i shot this image in a similar style to my favorite photographer- 'her majesty annie leibovitz's" 2009 hollywood series.
the shortlisted entries will be displayed at the npg, fingers crossed i make the cut...
